I.      The Call to War (Joel 3:9‑14)

A.   It Is a Holy War (Joel 3:9‑14)

 

B.   It is a Spiritual War (2 Corinthians 10:3‑5; Ephesians 6:l0-18)

 

How do you prepare for this war? - Ephesians 6:13-18

You put on your armor:

(1) The belt of truth

(2) The breastplate of righteousness

(3) Shoes prepared with the gospel of peace

(4) The shield of faith

(5) The helmet of salvation

Then you take up your weapons: The Sword of the Spirit ‑ the word of God ‑ and Jesus is the Word!

Then we pray!

 

II.    Going to War (Deuteronomy 20:1‑4)

What happens when you do believe that it is God's battle?

Nehemiah 4:7ff - Nehemiah ‑ sword and prayer on the wall against Sanballat and Tobiah

 

2 Chronicles 20 - Jehoshophat – when the Ammonites came against Jerusalem - sent choir and priests first into battle

 

 

III.  Called Into Battle (Deuteronomy 20:5‑8)

A.   You and Your Possessions (v. 5)

C.  You and Your Personal Relationships (v. 7)
