What Happens When We Die?

Hebrews 9:27-28

Hebrews 9:27-28 (NLT) - ²⁷And just as it is destined that each person dies only once and after that comes judgment, ²⁸so also Christ died only once as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again but not to deal with our sins again. This time he will bring salvation to all those who are eagerly waiting for him.

A. Some people say that death is the end of existence

Death is necessary - it is a door to Heaven!

D. At death a lost person’s soul go straight to hell

1. Death is a result of sin.

Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death”.

Romans 5:12 - “Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned”.

2 Thessalonians 1:9 – “⁹They will be punished with everlasting destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.”

III. The Best Way to Meet Death

A. Give your heart and life to Jesus by accepting His gift of salvation

D. Don’t take one single day for granted – James 4:14-16
