John 13:1-17

I.      Humility: The Reasons for It (v. 3)

A.  The Secret of Security

 

1.   He knew “that the Father had given ____________________________ into His hands.”

2.   He knew “that He had come ____________________________.”

3.   He knew “that He was going back ____________________________.”

 

B.  The Truth for Every Child of God!

 

1 Corinthians 3:21-22 - “All things are yours . . . all are yours.”

1 Timothy 6:17 - “God has given us (Christians) richly all things to enjoy.”

C.  The Effects of Insecurity

1.   Insecure people will ____________________________!

Jesus did seven things.

B.  Jesus Humbled Himself (Philippians 2:5-11)

 

 

John 1:14 - He “became flesh.”

Galatians 4:4 - He was “born of a woman.”

Romans 1:3 - “He was born of the seed of David according to the flesh.”

1 Timothy 3:16 - “God was manifested in the flesh.”

Hebrews 2:14 - “He became a partaker of flesh and blood.”

Hebrews 5:7 - “the days of His flesh”.

 

“Do you know what I have done to you? 13You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
