John accepted Christ as Lord and Savior in 1958, at the age of eight. In 2000, while serving as interim music minister in his church, John arranged for his brother, Daniel Baugh, PhD to visit as the guest pastor for a revival. After hearing Daniel present the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) of Jesus Christ for reaching the world through discipling, John began working toward his part in the fulfillment of the Great Commission through disciple making.

As a layman John has presented discipling topics in churches, to fellow disciples and disciple-makers in various locations in the USA, Mexico, Honduras and Africa. He has led or participated in the training of many fellow disciple-makers.

John is active in his church as a Sunday School teacher Deacon and choir member.

As a professional, John works as a manager in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a graduate (BS, MS) of Mississippi State University.

He is the principal sponsor and webmaster of the discipling website ToBeLikeHim.com.

He and his wife Cindy, have two wonderful sons two beautiful daughters-in-love and four incredible grandchildren.
