Return to Main Page Who
are we? 1. ToBeLikeHim.com
is a group of born again believers who have heard the Great Commission call
of our Lord and Savior to make disciples. 2. It
is our desire to honor that call through our lives and actions. 3. This
website is our effort to share disciple-making information, reference
materials and tools with other disciple makers. This material is offered to
users We hold the following statements to be
true: ·
We believe that all of us are sinners and have
fallen short of the glory of God. This righteousness from God
comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no
difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. ·
We believe that Jesus was God’s only son. For God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands
condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and
only Son. ·
We believe that Jesus existed with God from the
beginning. In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the
beginning. ·
We believe in spite of what we are, God wants to
have a relationship with us. For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life. ·
We believe that the only way to the Father is
through his Son. Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't
know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" No one comes to the Father except through
me." “Salvation is found in no one else, for
there is no other name under heaven ·
We believe that Jesus came to make us right with
God. One man sinned, and death ruled
because of his sin. But we are even more sure of what will happen because of
what the one man, Jesus Christ, has done. Those who receive the rich supply
of God's grace will rule with Christ in his kingdom. They have received God's
gift and have been made right with him. One man's sin brought guilt to all
people. So also one right act made all people right with God. And all who are
right with God will live. Many people were made sinners because one man did
not obey. But one man did obey. That is why many people will be made right
with God. ·
We believe through Jesus Christ, we have a direct
mediator with the Father, acceptance by the Father, and the promise (from
Christ) of eternal life with the Father in the place we call Heaven. Whoever acknowledges me before
men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever
disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. I am the living bread that came
down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This
bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Now we know that if the earthly
tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house
in heaven, not built by human hands. ·
We believe in the following six facts concerning
Jesus: 1.
The virgin
birth of Jesus: In the sixth month after 2. The sinless life of Jesus: Therefore, since we have a
great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let
us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who
is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been
tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then
approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need. 3. That Jesus died for our sins: You see, at just the right
time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely
will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly
dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were
still sinners, Christ died for us. 4. That Jesus was victorious over death: For what I received I passed on
to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according
to the Scriptures, But Christ has indeed been
raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For
since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also
through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 5. That Jesus ascended back to the Father: I came from the Father and entered
the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father. After he said this, he was
taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 6. That Jesus will
bridge the gap between the sin of man and the perfect holiness of the father
for those who accept him as savior and ask him to be Lord of their lives. For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life. ·
We believe this salvation relationship is a gift
from God. It is based on our faith in Christ to save us. This gift is through
God’s grace, based on his mercy toward us and not on anything we might do. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. ·
We believe that Jesus wanted us to have a vision that
includes all nations (in Greek “pas ethnos”) and all ethnic groups when we
share his message of salvation and obedience. We understand this is a command
from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to spread the gospel to all nations
and all ethnic groups. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in
heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." He said to them, "Go into
all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and
is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. and repentance and forgiveness
of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Again Jesus said, "Peace
be with you! As the Father has sent me, But you will receive power when
the Holy Spirit comes on you; ·
We believe that it is the desire of Jesus that we
should equip other believers so that they will grow to a point where they
also share the Gospel message with others. In spreading the Gospel this way,
we honor the great commission of Christ to reach the entire world with the
Gospel message and to make disciples as he commanded. And the things you have heard me say n the
presence of many witnesses ·
We believe our vision must be to build
World-Visionary, World-Impacting, Reproducing Disciples. Where there is no vision, the people perish. For God so loved the world, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on
you; and you will be my witnesses in Return to Main Page Site Rules and Restrictions Copyright © 2005, ToBeLikeHim Ministries |
